Pax Autocratica Beginner Guide

Learn the verified colony-to-combat loop, citizen checks, expedition preparation and progression priorities without an invented build order.

DIRECT ANSWER

Field answer

Start by learning the colony-to-warfront loop rather than copying an untested opening build. Stabilize basic citizen needs and assignments, understand what your expedition can carry, enter combat with a capture plan, and review the colony again when resources or prisoners return.

Quick facts

  • The colony and expedition layers form one progression loop
  • Citizen Fear, Loyalty, Happiness and Hunger are visible stability signals
  • Auto-assignment favors higher relevant stats
  • The Transport Hub can move backpack materials to the base
  • Weapon and Combination Cores reshape expedition builds

1. Read the colony before issuing orders

Begin with the information the game already exposes. Check food pressure, available workers and citizen stability signals before expanding. Fear and Loyalty are not interchangeable with Happiness and Hunger; they describe different parts of a citizen's relationship with the colony. Avoid treating any single meter as a magic solution.

Use assignment locking when a critical worker must stay on a job. Auto-assignment is useful because it prioritizes higher relevant stats, but it is still a tool to review—not proof that every role is optimally covered.

2. Build for a working loop

Expansion has to support the next expedition and survive the time you are away. Prefer readable paths, accessible production, and clear job coverage over a decorative “perfect layout.” Construction tools include height adjustment and drag-to-build; building panels include tutorial access, so inspect a structure's role before multiplying it.

3. Prepare the warfront deliberately

Before departing, confirm your equipment, soldiers and the intended goal. Expeditions can gather resources, trade, conscript or capture citizens and expand the colony. The Transport Hub is the bridge back to the base: it can move backpack materials and adjust deployed soldiers.

In battle, fight with the squad rather than treating allied soldiers as background scenery. Melee kills can drop ammunition, and weakened humanoid enemies can enter a stunned state the first time they fall below 25% health. That opens a capture decision; it does not guarantee success against every target.

4. Convert the return into progress

Back at the colony, clear bottlenecks before launching another run. Route resources into actual needs, inspect prisoners before interrogation, and compare new Cores by the behavior they change. Weapon Cores affect handling, Combination Cores create synergies, and some effects strengthen or deliberately endanger troops.

Repeat the loop with one question each time: what stopped the last cycle from working smoothly? That answer is more useful than an opening recipe written before the live build was available.

COMMON QUESTIONS

FAQ

What should I build first in Pax Autocratica?

There is no verified universal first building yet. Follow the tutorial, protect food and useful work coverage, and use building details before committing scarce materials.

Can the colony run itself while I fight?

The game includes assignments, standby work, auto-assignment and production systems, but the exact level of hands-off operation in the launch build still needs direct verification.

Should I capture every weakened enemy?

Capture is one possible objective, not a confirmed always-best choice. Prison capacity, risk and the value of completing the fight still matter.
