Field answer
Pax Autocratica combat combines first-person weapons with allied soldiers, roguelite Cores and capture decisions. Preserve squad position, manage ammunition, identify projectile threats and only attempt captures when a weakened eligible target can be secured safely.
Quick facts
- The player fights in first person beside allied soldiers
- Melee kills can drop ammunition
- Eligible humanoid enemies can enter a stunned state below 25% health

OFFICIAL GAMEPLAY · STEAMFight as a squad system
Allied soldiers are part of the combat loop. Track their position and the direction of major projectile threats before pushing forward. The official pitch includes overlapping bullets, lasers, missiles, drones and artillery, so survival depends on reading the arena rather than only aiming at the nearest target.
Manage ammunition without forcing melee
Melee kills can provide ammunition. Treat that as an option when positioning supports it, not a command to rush every low-health enemy. Preserving health and the squad can be worth more than a small refill in a dangerous projectile pattern.
Separate finishing from capturing
When an eligible humanoid enemy first falls below 25% health, it can enter a stunned state. Decide whether the area is controlled, the target matters and the colony can handle a prisoner. Elite enemies and bosses add capture difficulty, so a failed attempt should not be described as proof of a universal rate.
Let Cores change the plan
Weapon Cores alter handling, Combination Cores create synergies and some Cores affect troops. Review a Core by the behavior it changes: range, cadence, control, survivability or squad interaction. That is more durable than a pre-launch tier label.
Report combat problems precisely
For freezes, crashes or control issues, include the scene, resolution, input method and what happened immediately before the failure. Avoid mixing a balance complaint with a reproducible technical fault; the fixes use different evidence.
FAQ
How do captures work in combat?
Eligible weakened humanoid enemies can enter a stunned state, creating a capture opportunity. Elite and boss targets are harder, and the battle must still be made safe.
How can I recover ammunition?
Official update notes state that melee kills can drop ammo. Whether that is worth the risk depends on the current fight and build.
What is the best weapon?
No Early Access weapon meta has been verified. Weapon behavior also changes through Cores, so test handling and squad fit in the current build.
