DIRECT ANSWER

Vortex Shell: current answer

Vortex Shell is a Weapon Core whose damage was buffed in AG-14. The verified change supports revisiting an older build test, but does not establish a current best-in-slot ranking.

Quick facts

  • Official patch material names Vortex Shell as a Weapon Core.
  • AG-14 increases its damage.

Practical workflow — editorial guidance

Record the Core and weapon configuration before comparing damage.

Repeat the same encounter conditions when comparing a pre-update observation.

Keep a build note with the update ID and avoid ranking from one favorable run.

Evidence limits

Exact damage values, scaling and optimum combinations are not verified.

Core Builds

Revisit a Core build when a patch changes its actual effect or availability. Vortex Shell gained damage, Thunderbolt Arrow gained damage area, and later notes changed Core selection and activation behavior; none of those facts alone establishes a universal best build.
